Something’s Cooking!

A Rented Kitchen was born out of my tiny, white-cabinet, and uneven stove top kitchen, in Richmond, Virginia. I was a junior in college when this adventure began, seeking out a way to witness to the value of an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

My hope was that in sharing new recipes on a blog it would both make me a better cook, but also that it would inspire people to think critically about their meat intake- ideally inspiring some to give up meat every once in a while (Meatless Mondays any one???).

Since 2012, when this project started, a lot has changed.  Initially, I simply found joy in cooking so frequently. Today, however, 264 recipes and three years down, I find myself at a turning point with some new goals and energy in mind! Thus, I am excited to say I am taking short, yet indefinite break from regular recipe posts, to do a major “A Rented Kitchen” overhaul!

Stay tuned on Facebook and Instagram (@arentedkitchen) for updates, because the site is not going away, but it will be getting a make over!

I want to thank you all again, so much, for supporting me along the years!

Those of you who have followed me, cooked some of these recipes, and shared my meager environmental care efforts with others- I thank you.

Come back soon! There’s something in the oven!
